We are sad to announce that we have lost a long time astro-product innovator and a close friend of those of us in the magazine. We have been fortunate to work with Howie Glatter since the formation of the magazine over 10 years ago and he was always very kind with his time, gentle manner and kind support. In his Editor’s Note, Gary Parkerson discusses his personal thoughts on Howie’s impact on Gary’s life. It’s with sad hearts that we publish this issue without Howie in our lives.
In this issue Erik Wilcox gets back to his roots of eyepiece reviews as he tests the Explore Scientific 92 Degree Waterproof Eyepieces; Editor Gary Parkerson tries to describe his indescribable experience with 3D Astronomy’s Space Walker Binoculars; “Uncle” Rod Molisse finds a new way to polar align with Sharpcap; Philip Benson shows how to make real-time spectroscopy easy with R-SPEC; Greg Parker takes us through the development of his MiniWASP parallel imaging array at the New Forest Observatories; In our “looking Back” article Alexandre Lhoest shows how the good-ol’ Herschel Wedge has entered the 21st Century; Industry News; New Products and more.
